Wash and soak mung daal in 1 cup of water for 10 mins. Now rinse and keep it aside. Take a pan, add ghee, heeng, cumin seed, while red chilli and let it splutter. Add chopped green chilli, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt, black salt and daal. Now let it cook on medium flame with lid. Stir occasionally. Let it get soft , don’t break daal. After 10-15 mins turn flame off and let it cool. Now in a mixing bowl take daal, chopped onion, cilantro, tamarind paste, lemon juice, chaat masala and mix well. Garnish and enjoy.
